Spike Rush terms of service

Who we are and when these terms apply

Spike Rush is a game by Box Game Studio, a Brazilian indie studio run by Luiz Felipe Teixeira Farias. Reach us at [email protected].

These terms cover the Android app (com.boxgamestudio.spikerush), the web version at play.boxgamestudio.com and the game servers. By playing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the game.

How we handle your data is described in the Spike Rush privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

Age

Spike Rush is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian to play.

The game and your account

The game is free. Offline modes work without an account. On your first online match, the app creates a guest account tied to your device, with no email or password.

• The account is personal: do not sell, lend or share it.
• The account key is stored on your device. If you uninstall the app or switch devices, you may lose access to the account, coins and stats, and we cannot recover them.
• Your player name is visible to other players. It must not be offensive or discriminatory, impersonate someone else or contain personal data.

Coins and virtual items

• Coins are earned by playing or by watching rewarded ads, and can only be spent on in-game items such as tags.
• Coins and items have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or transferred to another account and are not your property: you receive a license to use them in the game.
• Spike Rush currently sells nothing for real money. If that changes, these terms will be updated first.
• We may adjust prices, rewards and daily limits to keep the game balanced, and remove coins or items obtained through bugs, cheating or abuse.

Ads

The Android app shows Google AdMob rewarded ads, which are always optional: you choose to watch one to get the reward, which is only granted when the ad is watched to the end and confirmed by the server. There is a daily limit. Ads come from third parties, and we are not responsible for their content.

Conduct

To keep the game fun for everyone, you must not:

• cheat, use bots, macros or programs that alter the game, or exploit bugs instead of reporting them;
• attack, overload or try to access without permission the servers, the API or other players' accounts;
• repeatedly abandon matches on purpose, or fix results in ranked play;
• harass, threaten or insult other players, including through player or room names;
• copy, resell, decompile or modify the game, except where the law allows it.

If you find a bug, please let us know.

What we can do in case of abuse

Depending on how serious it is, we may apply a temporary match ban (such as the abandon cooldown), reset stats, coins or rating, change an inappropriate name, or suspend or close the account. If you think it was a mistake, write to us and we will review it.

Online service

We do our best to keep the servers running, but online play depends on the internet and may be unavailable for maintenance, failures or reasons beyond our control. We may change, add or remove modes, characters, rules and features through updates.

If the online servers are ever shut down, we will announce it in the game and on this website at least 30 days in advance. Offline modes keep working in the app you already have.

Intellectual property

The game, the Spike Rush name, the characters, art, sounds and code belong to Box Game Studio or its licensors. You receive a personal, free, non-exclusive and revocable license to play, with no right to sell or redistribute the game.

You may record and publish videos and streams of the game, including monetized ones, as long as you do not claim they are official Box Game Studio content.

Liability

The game is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss of data, coins or progress caused by uninstalling, switching devices or internet failures, or for indirect damages. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer protection law in your country gives you.

Closing your account

You can stop playing at any time and ask for your account to be deleted on the Delete your Spike Rush account page. When it is deleted, coins, items and stats are erased and cannot be recovered.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the new version is published on this page with an updated date. Important changes are also announced in the game. If you keep playing after that, you accept the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Brazilian law. Before anything else, write to us at [email protected] so we can try to solve it. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to go to the courts and consumer protection bodies where you live.
